H—Help Them BelieveMark 29:4 (NIV) “I believe; help my unbelief!” At some point, an unchurched person needs to cross the line from unbelief to belief. This is the point of spiritual conversion. The person has heard the claims of the gospel. The Holy Spirit has awakened him or her to the reality of sin's guilt, the expectation of God's judgment upon sin, and Christ's death on the cross as the only means for obtaining God's forgiveness. Scriptural Examples1. On the Day of Pentecost, Peter helped his hearers cross the line of faith. Acts 2:37-38 (NIV) 38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.2. After Saul's encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus, Ananias helped Paul cross the line of faith. Acts 9:17-18 (NIV) 3. Peter helped the Roman centurion, Cornelius, cross the line of faith. Acts 10:44 (NIV) 4. The Apostle Paul helped the Ephesian disciples of John the Baptist cross the line of faith. Acts 19:4-5 (NIV) Click here to find ways to help people cross the line of faith.
